University bus service
|
The university inter campus bus service connects Avery Hill, Greenwich and Medway Campus. It is the easiest way to travel between the campuses during normal university hours. Most departure times are designed for arrival at lectures starting on the hour.
Since 11 January 2010 journeys to/from the Medway Campus cost £1 (see below). Other services are free.
Buses are provided for University of Greenwich staff and students only except the Medway service which can additionally be used by the other universities at Medway.
Printed timetables are available at various points around the university. Alternatively you can access information using the links below:

Medway Campus bus service - new fare
Due to a huge increase in passenger numbers using the Medway Campus bus over the last two years and as a result a huge rise in cost, a small fare has been introduced.
From 11 January 2010 it costs £1 per single journey when travelling to or from Medway. The level of subsidy provided this year by the university has still increased.
Tickets must be purchased before you travel on the bus and are on sale at the following locations:

New Avery Hill Campus station shuttle bus
- from January Falconwood only
The station shuttle bus is part of the Green Travel Plan at the Avery Hill Campus and is funded with the income raised from parking charges.
Having operated for a full term it was reviewed and since 4 January 2010 runs to a published timetable between both campus sites and Falconwood Station only (the New Eltham Station route has been stopped).
This will improve frequency and reliability with the intention of encouraging more people to use the service and in turn rail travel to the university.
New bus timetable from 4 January
Please look out for a Centaur minibus with signage for the university in the front screen and windows.
Passengers travelling from New Eltham Station are advised to use the 162 bus which operates around every 20 minutes to/from both sites.
