Cycling and walking

Cycling

The University has a Cycle Users group on the portal in order to raise awareness of cycling issues and share bike tips and ideas. All the campuses have cycle parking and access to showers. Please have a look at the cycling information and links below.

Safety

Guidance for staying safe on the roads can be found in the Highway Code. New cyclists will find the information provided by the London Cycling Campaign useful. This covers confidence and safety on the road and protection.

Security

In order to reduce the risk of having your bicycle stolen it is worth investing in a decent robust lock. It is best to avoid the thin cable type designs as these can easily be snipped with a cutter. Please read the cycle security guidance provided by the London Cycling campaign.
