Swing for Stella
A fundraising big band concert for a child with Neuroblastoma held on Sunday 14 February 2010 at the Avery Hill Campus. The lecture theatre was full to capacity.
Stella had a low chance of survival unless she could obtain a revolutionary antibody treatment to prevent a relapse, atratment that costs a massive £250,000.
The concert, one of many events being held to raise money to help Stella survive, contributed £1,738 of the £225,000 collected during the campaign. All those who contributed to this campaign will be pleased to hear that Stella completed her 8 month long treament at the Children Hospital In Philadelphia in September last year and was clear of the cancer. She is back home in Canterbury, and she continues to maintain her recovery.
