i3Centre In an effort to reach beyond academia in the EU, with a focus on SMEs and Entrepreneurship, Jerry Allen (i3Centre), Dr Mary-Paz Arrieta-Paredes (Business School), and Prof Chris Birch (i3Centre), hosted an informational event for a delegation of young Spanish Entrepreneurs from the region of Castilla y León in Spain.

The aim of the event which took place last Wednesday, was to promote the University of Greenwich's initiatives on Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise, looking to build long term relationships with relevant Spanish institutions.

The delegation, formed by eighteen young entrepreneurs, is part of, a hub for promoting innovative ideas in Spain, and was leaded by Juán Carlos Martínez, David Tomé and José Vicente Orden from the European Centre for Enterprise and Innovation (CEEI – Burgos).

The group visited London to explore how Entrepreneurship is currently developing in the city, choosing venues as prestigious as Fab Lab London and Campus London, as well as the chamber of commerce of Spain.

On this occasion, three former finalists of the Greenwich Business Planning Competition Yvonne Platt, Mark Berbeck, Sveta Odaryuk along with a key business partner Mike Orchard, from SkillsHive, joined Jerry Allen to present to the visitors their successful histories. The Spaniards also had the opportunity to showcase their own business projects.
