PR FraternityTop speakers from the world of public relations will share some of their showbusiness secrets and industry top tips in an exciting series of talks at the University of Greenwich.

Run by The PR Fraternity, a society set up by Greenwich students and alumni with a passion for Public Relations, the talks are free to attend and present a rare opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from leading professionals about their careers and experiences.

Megan Carver of The Outside Organisation, one of the UK’s most renowned entertainment PR companies, is speaking on Wednesday 26 February. The firm’s clients include David Bowie, The Jacksons, Prince, Leeds United, EMI and Sony.

On Tuesday 4 March the speaker is Mark Borkowski, one of the UK’s leading creative publicists and a respected commentator on communications issues in the national media and at academic and corporate conventions.

He is followed on Wednesday 19 March by Polly Ravenscroft, Managing Director of PR Squared, a specialist entertainment PR Agency whose clients have included the X Factor, Dermot O’Leary and EastEnders.

Tessa Matchett, Head of PR for Sky One, is speaking on Friday 28March.

Others in the series include Andy Parfitt, Executive Director of Talent for Saatchi & Saatchi, on Wednesday 12 February, and Des Wilson, the founder of Shelter, on Wednesday 12 March. These talks also form part of the Big Picture seminars, run by the university’s Faculty of Business.

The PR Fraternity has established itself as one of the biggest societies at Greenwich and has a strong network of PR industry contacts.

The university’s Paul Simpson, a Senior Lecturer in Public Relations, helped found the society. As former Head of PR at BBC Radio One, he is well placed to offer expert advice.
