Big PictureDesign and innovation take centre stage in the latest Big Picture seminar at the University of Greenwich on Wednesday 18 October.

Dan Toon, the Design Function Lead within McLaren Applied Technologies (MAT), will be giving a talk on the value of combining science, technology and engineering with the creative disciplines. The event runs from 5pm and is open to all.

An innovation consultant with a wealth of experience in managing commercial and academic projects, Dan works with clients throughout the entire design process, from conception through to production. He also runs creative workshops for international brands and organisations in sectors which include healthcare, FMCG and consumer products.

The Big Picture events take place at the Greenwich Campus, in the Stephen Lawrence Building. Entry is on a first come, first served basis, and early arrival is recommended.

Run by the university's Business School, these seminars give high-profile speakers a chance to share their expert insights with staff, students and the public. Subjects include entrepreneurship, leadership and management, the economy and the media.

Colin Byrne, one of the UK's leading Public Relations practitioners, business leader Veera Johnson, and Lawrie Sanchez, a former international footballer and manager, are among those in this year's Big Picture line up.
