"Without the university I don't think I would be in the position where I am now. I couldn't have thought of a better way to use four years to develop myself as an individual".

What made you decide to study at the University of Greenwich?

It was the perfect university for me. The tutors that I met during my fresher week gave me a confident outlook on teaching. Furthermore, I knew I would gain an understanding of various theoretical elements.

How would you describe the social life at the university?

The social life at the University of Greenwich is thriving, there are many different initiatives and societies to be part of. I've always tried to stay active and found the university really helps you find the balance between work and play. You learn and develop so many different aspects of your own personal development.

How has a work placement helped your career options, what did it involve?

I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do when I finished university, so a placement really helped me find the direction I needed to pursue a career I knew I would love. Through the support of the Employability Office I was able to complete a placement with Sandals. Sandals is a hospitality company based in the Caribbean. My placement was an HR role working very closely alongside the regional human resource manager, so it was great for my development and understanding of the working world.

What advice would you give future students looking to study at university?

Without university I don't think I would be in the position I am now. I have a great chance of getting a decent job and couldn't have thought of a better way to use four years to develop myself as an individual. Students now have the opportunity to do the same.
