Senior Lecturer in Finance

Alex is a Senior Lecturer in the Business School at University of Greenwich, London, having started as a visiting lecturer in 2004. Alex is also a visiting lecturer at Birkbeck College (University of London) and London South Bank University. For the last eleven years, Alex has taught Financial Management, Advanced Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Strategic Management Accounting, TOPCIMA and ACCA F5 across a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional accountancy courses. Prior to becoming academia, worked in the following government departments and the banking industry:

  • Department of Transport as Assistant Unit Accountant for five years – designed and implementation of a route costing system;
  • Financial Analyst at Abbey National plc (Bank) for five years - implementation of Activity Based Management System in collaboration with Price Waterhouse;
  • Senior Finance Manager in the Department of Health for eight years - Implementation of the National contract for GPs and Dentist across some Primary Care Trusts in the London area.
  • Course leader for FINA 1126 Introduction to Finance and Economics
  • ACCO 1083 Introduction to Financial Accounting
