Dr Gerhard Kristandl is an internationally published, award-winning author of several papers, a book on intellectual capital and intangibles as well as a textbook on Business Information Systems. He has extensive management consulting experience in top client-facing roles and provides insights and experience from both the academic and corporate worlds.

Before he joined the department of Accounting & Finance at the University of Greenwich, he worked for Accenture Germany in their Finance and Performance Management practice from 2007–09. Prior to that, he was a research and teaching assistant in management accounting at Vienna University of Economics and Business from 2002–07.

In 2006, Gerhard was a visiting scholar at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.Currently, Gerhard is doing research in the area of cloud technology and management accounting and control. He has also developed and presented papers in the area of Accounting History.

He is also a contributor to and reviewer of journal articles and management accounting textbooks in the UK, as well as the co-author of a textbook on Business Information Systems for accounting students.
