Graduates share how our employability support helped develop their career:

"My programme provided me with language skills through its exchange programme with universities across Europe. I gained valuable hands-on experience via the work placement programme, as well as both academic and practical skills through its well structured choice of lectures and tutorials. It's a programme, which has equipped me with the right skills for my chosen career in the communications industry."

Group Account Director, Fallon London
BA Advertising and Marketing Communications Graduate

"The structure of the programme is all encompassing, thus enabling you to cover all aspects of marketing in considerable detail. This was especially useful for me as I now predominately work on integrated campaigns that are increasingly more and more complex involving all aspects of the marketing mix. I studied the sandwich year programme and worked for a year in industry on the client side, which for me was fantastic as it enabled me to see how all the theory relates and then works in the real world – this really pays dividends later on."

BA Hons Advertising and Marketing Communications Graduate

"I am working as Marketing Executive for the Mortgage Division of the Publishing Company Incisive Media. I specifically work with Your Mortgage and Your Money magazine. I have been here a year now and have been enjoying the position. We are based in Haymarket, Piccadilly so it’s nice to be central. University life was great. I still see a lot of friends. I got to work in Boston in my second year, whilst on my sandwich year placement, which was an unforgettable experience. The marketing programme was hard work at times but the fact that University of Greenwich promotes teamwork really helps you get to grips with working in teams on projects together."

Helen Coe
Marketing Executive, Incisive Media
BA Hons Marketing Graduate

"My tutors were always approachable and prompt in replying to any given queries within the established communication channels. The research and other facilities provided to students were excellent and commendable. I managed to secure an internship at IBM UK, which I considered a great feature in my university career. The guidance given to me by the Placements Office, in this regard, under the Sandwich Programme scheme was greatly appreciated. My interpersonal skills and self-confidence have soared equipping me for any business and professional undertaking. Indeed, the experience I have had at the University of Greenwich is truly magnificent and one I will treasure for life."

Jerome Anthony Adams
BA Hons Finance and Financial Information Systems

"I found the Accounting and Finance programme provided a broad knowledge base for the many aspects required entering to the accounting profession. I appreciated the way that the programme was structured with each year building on the study of the previous year. By the end of the programme I had in-depth insight as to how different areas of accounting and finance function integrate.

After graduation I took some time off to travel and see the world. Upon my return I sought a graduate role and have been offered a post as a trainee business advisor with PKF (UK) LLP one of the top ten UK accountancy firms. I will be studying for my Chartered Accountancy qualification with PKF. The degree certainly helped me obtain this position as the assessments that PKF uses to filter graduates, require analysis of the skills and knowledge obtained through university studies."

"As well as giving me a lot of fun along the way, I believe the University of Greenwich prepared me well for the diverse roles I have undertaken since graduation. This has led to my present role as sourcing manager responsible for a major area of spend within Barclays."

Brian Webb

"As a mature student, I went to the University of Greenwich to study part-time. You cannot beat learning a structured academic programme to help you gain practical knowledge that you can apply in your job immediately. I have now completed a postgraduate programme in marketing and my telecommunications business is thriving."
