Can you please describe what the Trading challenge involves?

The trading challenge, from my perspective, is a great way to test how university students interact with the stock market. It's divided into four sections, one to test the teamwork such as the group presentation, then there is a monthly trading competition and then there are two portfolio management competitions. It kind of spreads along all the skills that you require to be a trader.

Were you nervous about any elements of the challenge?

Definitely competing with so many universities, and because it was my first time testing my trading abilities in a competition, I was a bit nervous that my results would not have been up to standard. I really felt a lot of pressure, but in the end, I managed to keep calm.

How did you hear about the trading challenge that you participated in?

The Trading Challenge was proposed to me by my trading society and especially Liam, who told us about this opportunity and I was interested about it because it was a way to see how I would have competed with other people, test my skills and learn a lot about trading.

Do you have fond memories of Greenwich?

I think the University of Greenwich really teaches economics in a completely different way from any other university.  It's really pluralist and does not only cover the mainstream thoughts of economics.

There are a lot of societies that gather in the week and people are very open-minded and it's really easy to make friends here.  The university really provides a great environment to make strong friendships really.  I think I've made lifetime friendships here.
