Dr Jithendran Kokkranikal is a Principal Lecturer in Tourism Management within the Department of Marketing, Events and Tourism.

Dr Kokkranikal's research and teaching interests relate to tourism development with particular focus on entrepreneurship, human resources and sustainability. He gained his PhD and also holds an MSc in Tourism from Strathclyde University, an MA in Personnel Management and Social Work from Madras University and a BA from Loyola College.

Before joining Greenwich, Dr Kokkranikal was a Lecturer in Tourism and Programme Director at the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (formerly The Scottish Hotel School), University of Strathclyde, where he led and taught a range of undergraduate and postgraduate tourism and hospitality courses. Earlier, Dr Kokkranikal worked as an Assistant Professor in Tourism and Programme Coordinator at the Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS), India.

Dr Jithendran Kokkranikal currently supervises following PhD students:

  1. Mrs Ewure Ansa-Out - The representation of the heritage of Ghana through heritage tourism
  2. Mr Ray Powell - Dark Tourism in Europe: a post-modern perspective with consideration of supply-side factors
  3. Mr Charles Oham - The Impact of Christian Spiritual Capital on Entrepreneurial Practice: An analysis of faith and entrepreneurship outcomes in the 21st century
  4. Mr Nithin Radhakrishnan - Skills shortage in hospitality sector in Great Britain with special focus on London: An analysis of the industry response.

He is happy to supervise research in areas related to his current research interests and invite those interested in researching related topics to contact directly.
