How we teach students

Traditional teaching is supported by online resources within a virtual learning environment, and this is supplemented by business simulation exercises and practical challenges. You will have access to industry experts through guest presentations and lectures.

Course materials, lecture slides, case studies and links to learning resources can be accessed online through Moodle (our virtual learning platform). You will also have access to online resources such as Mintel, Business Source Primer and Emerald.

Our Master's programmes provide the opportunity to participate in:

Business simulation games

The Master's students take part in a business simulation game called Cayenne. They act as teams of project consultants for a major IT implementation programme. Within the simulation the teams have to manage the engagement with different stakeholders and balance the cost, time and business value that the project delivers.

Participants are given project situations, where they have to identify potential problems or explain the cause of weak performance in a project. This allows them to learn from the mistakes that they have diagnosed and can apply them into their real life work.
