Andrew Ferrier joined the University of Greenwich in 2012. Previously, Andrew ran a consultancy business in Learning Management System solutions for schools (EASE-IT), specialising in Moodle LMS courses

He was employed as an ICT education consultant with the South East England Virtual Education Action Zone (SEEVEAZ) from 2003 to 2005.

From 2005 to 2011 he was employed as a Computer Education Consultant with the School Improvement Team for the London Borough of Bromley. During that time he coordinated a variety of computer education projects for Bromley Schools related to Learning Management Systems. He was also employed as an ICT Mark Assessor through BECTA and NAACE.

He also worked as a Professional Development Education Officer with the State Education Department in Victoria Australia developing recognised training programs for primary and secondary teachers in the use of Computers in Education. He worked in private industry in developing, implementing and training teachers in Learning Management Systems in Victoria and New South Wales.

Andrew has a strong interest in the use of learning technologies and the use of Learning Management Systems to improve student engagement.He is particularly interested in the use of WIKIS and the development of gamification for self-directed learning
