Ian Clarke took up a full-time position at the University of Greenwich in January 2010, having lectured previously on a sessional basis at University of Sussex and Brunel University London. Ian completed his PhD from Brunel University London in January 2012 and, prior to studying for this he had taught for several years in further education colleges. Ian has a MSc Economics from the London School of Economics.

Responsibilities within the university:

Member of the STIR research group.

Teaching and administrative activities:

Course leader: Small Business Development (third year undergraduate and international course)

Course leader: Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship (second year undergraduate course)

Course tutor: Professional and Personal Development 1

  • Intermediary organisations, including their conceptualisation and specific roles in innovation processes.
  • Innovation and knowledge flows between SMEs, particularly in developing economy clusters.
  • Innovation and sustainability, in particular electric cars.
