BA History - Click to download programme leaflet in PDF format Students study this programme at the Greenwich World Heritage Site, itself a living legacy of British scientific, maritime and imperial history, as well as a thriving multicultural centre of contemporary Britain. The programme explores a wide range of historical topics, from global events to community history, and from the French Revolution to the World Wars. History students also have the opportunity to develop practical and professional skills through our extensive work placements programme.

Aims of the programme

  • To provide students with a substantial grounding in modern British and European history
  • To nurture the development of open, creative and critical thinkers who are able to apply these qualities of mind in a variety of intellectual contexts
  • To encourage an appreciation of the nature of historical enquiry and of the links between history and other disciplines
  • To provide a structure and an environment in which skills relevant to citizenship, employability, and lifelong learning may be developed
