The landscape management profession has evolved from the tradition of amenity horticulture in developing urban parks, gardens and sports facilities, to now also embracing the sustainable management and maintenance of land-based habitats including leisure, nature conservation and landscape conservation.
To prepare for roles in this industry, students learn about long-term care and development of new and existing landscapes, and how to determine policy and planning. The programme includes lectures, group work, and, for HND students, visits to meet and question practitioners, study trips and work experience.
Aims of the programme
