Keith Evans is Senior Lecturer of Music Education in the Department of Secondary Education, LLTE and PE & Sport at the University of Greenwich.

Since joining the university in 2006, Keith has taught on both Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programmes. He leads on the Secondary Post Graduate in Education (PGCE) Musicians in Education course which is a collaboration between the university and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. This course aims to give teachers a more holistic view of music education and includes placements in alternative settings (e.g. orchestral outreach, community music and local authority music services) in addition to the formal school context.

Prior to moving into ITT, Keith taught music in Kent schools for more than 25 years. His published writing discusses Teaching Music Musically in the 14-19 courses and whether academic and vocational qualifications in Music are fit for purpose.

Keith is also the course coordinator for the Secondary PGCE Modern Languages (French) and for the Assessment Only route to Qualified Teacher Status in the Department. He is Link tutor for the university's Secondary PGCE programme in conjunction with our School Centred Initial Teacher Training providers: the Colchester Teacher Training Consortium and Mid Essex ITT.
