Clearing up Clearing videoThe hopes and fears of students waiting for their A-level results this week are explored in a new video from the University of Greenwich.

The students share personal stories, including anxieties about winning a university place. Then, their worries are addressed by the university’s Head of Student Recruitment, Bev Woodhams, who gives reassuring advice about getting a place in Clearing, a national system which offers a final opportunity to start in higher education this autumn. Current Greenwich students also discuss their experiences of the Clearing process.

Inspired by the popular YouTube meme, Draw My Life, the short video features a mix of hand drawing and very simple animation combined with the students’ voices. It aims to speak directly to young people who are making one of the most important decisions in their life.

Bev says: “Clearing could be the opportunity you need to find the course that’s right for you. Find out more in our video – it’s intended as light interlude for those considering Clearing, and those who find themselves in Clearing later this week. Have a look, make a comment and tell us what you think!”
