Student experience Faculty of Engineering & Science

The university’s Medway Campus, an Edwardian redbrick and ivy-clad campus dating from 1903, has benefited from £50 million in investment in hi-tech learning facilities.

Learning and leisure facilities

The centrepiece of the Medway development is the magnificent Drill Hall Library – a 100,000 square feet learning resource centre converted from a naval drill hall housing state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities, a library, computer suite, study areas and teaching rooms.

The campus also boasts social and leisure facilities, including a restaurant and café. Sports facilities include a sports hall, a gym with cardiovascular and weights rooms and outdoor tennis courts. The on-campus bar, Coopers, offers meals and traditional pub games. A general shop is also on campus.

The university has linked with other local educational establishments to develop the campus as a major higher education centre in the Medway region, known collectively as Universities at Medway.

The faculty has state-of-the-art equipment for electronics assembly and manufacture. We also have a range of advanced machine tools and rapid prototyping equipment and advanced computer, signal generation and testing equipment and facilities.
