Dr Samueal Mengistu started at the University of Greenwich in 2002 is a visiting lecturer, and has since become a senior lecturer in the School of Engineering.

He was previously a lecturer at Crawly College, and started his academic career in 1996 as a research assistant at Alfa Laval and the University of Greenwich.

He has published two papers while a research student and is now in the process of publishing another paper.

He has worked previously with the Wolfson Center for Bulk Solid Handling technology with Professor Mike Bradley. He has also worked with Dr Mark Bingley and currently working him to publish a paper in the area of abrasive wear.

  • Abrasive wear by hard particles and the mechanisms of wear in solid handling and other applications
  • Understanding of wear and its influence on friction
  • Thermal power plant and heat transfer
  • Thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
  • Power unit and transmission technology
