Travelling from abroad

By Air

The University campuses are all within a reasonable travelling distance of international airports. Use the links below to access the airports' websites.

London Heathrow

It is possible to get the Tube from Heathrow but it is much quicker by the Heathrow Express train to London Paddington Station (every 15 minutes and taking only 15 minutes).

London Gatwick

The Gatwick Express train also runs every 15 minutes and takes 30 minutes to London Victoria.

London Stansted

The Stansted Express runs every 15 minutes to London Liverpool Street Station and takes 45 minutes.

London Luton

First Capital Connect provide train services out of London Gatwick and London Luton and these both go into London Bridge Station.

London City Airport

London City Airport is particularly convenient for Greenwich and Avery Hill campus being within 10 miles distance of both. It is possible to get the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from this airport.

National Express and Green Line offer scheduled coach services to a range of destinations.

If travelling with luggage it may be easier to take the last leg of your journey from the station by taxi cab.

For journey planning from the airports you may wish to use the links from the airports' own websites or alternatively use the links at the bottom of the page.

By Channel Ferry

The companies listed below offer channel ferry services to Dover. Use the links provided to access their websites.

For onward rail travel to Greenwich and Avery Hill campus, take a train for London Bridge, Charing Cross or Victoria Station, then use local rail or bus services. If travelling to Medway it is possible to get a train direct to Chatham station from Dover, Folkestone or Ramsgate, without going into central London.

If travelling by car the AA can provide route planning to campus. From Dover; Greenwich is approximately 70 miles, Avery Hill 65 miles, and Medway 50 miles.

By Channel Tunnel

If travelling through the tunnel, the Eurostar takes passengers by high speed rail direct to London - St. Pancras Station. Local public transport will then need to be taken to the campus. Alternatively if you are travelling with a car via EuroTunnel (Le Shuttle), the AA can provide route planning information to campus. Folkestone to Greenwich is approximately 65 miles, to Avery Hill 60 miles, and to Medway 45 miles.

Traveline or Transport for London provide information to plan journeys by public transport.
