Avery Hill Leisure

The Dome building on the Southwood Site was refurbished in 2008 and now includes a fitness room with the latest equipment. A Sports Hall is situated in the David Fussey Building and offers a full range of first class indoor sporting activities.

In addition, the university regularly maintains two football pitches on site with male and female changing facilities. There are also four outdoor tennis courts available for delegate use.

Near the campus, there are plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants, as well as cinemas, a 28-lane bowling alley and health and fitness facilities.

The nearest town is Eltham, where you will find a high street with the usual array of places to shop and eat. Bluewater, Europe's largest and most innovative retail and leisure destination, is located just a short car journey away down the A2. Bexleyheath has the smaller Broadway Shopping Centre. Blackheath, to the north of the A2, has restaurants offering cuisine ranging from Mexican to Indian. Historic Greenwich itself is home to the National Maritime Museum and Royal Observatory. London is approximately 30 minutes away by train with all the benefits and tourist attractions it has to offer.

Premiership football is played at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic F.C. Near to Avery Hill is Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, which hosts grand prix athletics every summer and other high-profile events.
