Q1. What types of recordings can my lecturers produce using Panopto?
A. Panopto can record the computer screen, audio and video. Early adopters have been using the system to record live lectures, special events, tutorials and much more.

Q2. None of my lectures are recorded. Why is this?
A. The use of Panopto is opt-in, and not all lecturers are currently participating. You can speak to your lecturer to find out whether they are planning to record lectures in future.

Q3. Which lecture theatres have Panopto installed?
A. Please see the list of Panopto enabled rooms.

Q4. What are the time scales for the Panopto rollout (installing University wide)?
A. Panopto has now been installed in all lecture theatres and classrooms at all campuses.

Q5. One of the most common problems is audio quality or no audio on a recording. Why does this happen?
A. Users have been advised to use wireless microphones.  Sometimes users forget to wear these and use the desk microphones instead.  These are not as reliable as they only work when you are close to them.  We have also found that users occasionally mute microphones by accident.

Q6. Can the University add better quality video cameras so that I can see the chalk or white board through the video?
A. The current video quality is standard composite video which was chosen to match the current room infrastructure. The University will look into high definition video in the future, should the trial be successful, but this will take time and funding.

Q7. Where do I get access to my recordings?
A. Most recordings will be posted on the Virtual Learning Environment (normally Moodle).

Q8. I can't view a Panopto video. Who can I talk to provide me with access?
A. If you cannot access a recording you must talk to your tutor. He or she can provide you with access through the VLE (Moodle).
