SCONUL Access Scheme

Basic Description:

The Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL)

SCONUL Access is a co-operative venture between most of the higher education libraries of the UK and Ireland.  It enables staff, research students, full time postgraduate and part-time, distance learning and placement students to borrow material from other libraries. Restrictions to this service may be put in place during busy periods (see 'Restrictions' below). Please refer to the University of Greenwich SCONUL pages for more information.

Key Features / Benefits:

    • Access for eligible users to over 170 higher education libraries in the UK and Ireland.
    • If you are eligible to borrow you may take up to five items at any one time.
    • Wireless access to the eduroam network is available to students from participating. universities, via their own laptops. However, no other IT facilities are available.

Customer Responsibility:

To report any problems with this service to ILS via the IT Service Desk (Ext 7555) or email helpdesk@gre.ac.uk

To provide the IT Service Desk or any member of ILS staff with their username and contact details for incident logging purposes, and as much detail of any incidents of problems observed, including times and dates when possible.

Restrictions:

Please be advised that during busy periods (including, but not limited to, revision and exam times), our libraries may be unable to offer access to SCONUL users. Please refer to the 'visitors from other universities' section at http://libguides.gre.ac.uk/sconul for details of current restrictions.
