Education Liaison Unit

The Education Liaison Unit attends and participates in Education and Careers events across the United Kingdom throughout the year. We are also able to support your Higher Education activity by attending and contributing to a variety of events held at your institution, for example:
- 6th Form Higher Education Conferences/Fairs
- parents' evenings
- Aim Higher activities (or similar)
- careers sessions.
We are happy to organise generic or subject focused visits to the university and host campus based tours at any of our sites for your students. Visitors can meet current undergraduates and lecturers and see the campus.
Information for students and parents
As part of your preparation for Higher Education, we can provide information for students and parents, the following workshops and presentations are very popular:

- UCAS and Applying to Higher Education
- Choosing a Course and a University
- Life as a Student
- Student Finance and Money Matters
- How to Succeed at University Interviews

- Subject Specific Presentation
This lists is by no means exhaustive and we would be delighted to discuss any specific requirements you or your institution may have.
The Unit also assists with the co-ordination and hosting of the University Campus Open Days. Please feel free to attend, either with your school or as an individual.
Advisor Sessions
We deliver information and advice sessions to: teachers, careers advisers, Connexions personal assistants and all personnel involved in post-16 education.
We offer three half-day advice sessions each year. Each event is based at one of our three campuses. The programmes usually include:
- academic speakers from schools based at the host campus
- a tour of the site and student facilities
- input from the Widening Participation team
- a student life presentation.
These sessions give advisers the opportunity to discuss programme content with lecturers, meet the Widening Participation / Aim Higher / Aspire teams and discuss any aspect of higher education, the UCAS process and the university.
