Corporate Information Systems
Information Systems is responsible for the implementation, development and maintenance of all of the university's key business information systems. Major responsibilities include the management of Banner Student Services (including admissions, student finance, accommodation, HESA and student records), Finance and Financial Aid, Oracle Human Resources and Payroll, Imaging and Document Management (for Finance), the Library System (Talis), Licenses and Contracts (Inteum), the corporate Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) and institutional portal.
Information Systems is also responsible for the development of strategic and operational reporting for all of the business areas, including devolved reporting for budget holders, student records and admissions. Tools used are Oracle Reports, Business Objects and Advizor, which is used for graphical dashboard reporting. The department is also responsible for a number of web based systems, including the institutional portal, student records self service, library system OPAC, Moodle and associated connections to web based systems hosted elsewhere both within the University and outside, e.g. Athens.
