Legal Method Seminars
The Information and Library Service run information skills sessions in conjunction with the Law Department. These sessions are usually advertised by email and on the Department notice boards. The skills sessions are provided in face to face seminars as well as in an online course, using WebCT, the University's virtual learning environment.
Self Guided Training
The Progression in Information Skills course is designed to help you use information ethically and effectively in your academic work.
The Intute: Virtual Training Suite "provides free Internet tutorials to help you learn how to get the best from the Web for your education and research". Internet for Lawyers guides you through resources available for law on the internet and shows how to evaluate them.
The Internet Detective, also hosted by Intute, is "a free online tutorial that will help you develop Internet research skills for your university and college work. The tutorial looks at the critical thinking required when using the Internet for research and offers practical advice on evaluating the quality of web sites".
LexisNexis Butterworths and Westlaw Training and Support
The LexisNexis Student Associate and Westlaw Student Representatives are available to help University of Greenwich students or staff with using the LexisNexis and Westlaw databases.
