Julie Payne is a Senior Lecturer of Adult Nursing in the Department of Adult Nursing & Paramedic Science at the University of Greenwich.

Julie has been with the university since 2010, contributing her experience of practice in cardiac, medical and palliative care nursing. 

Julie is currently course leader in Evidence Based Practice; Introduction to the Theories of Communication for Therapeutic Purposes; Contemporary Issues in Complementary and Alternative Medicine; Clinical Practice Development; IT skills for Health Care Professionals; Mentor Preparation, as well as programme leader for BSc Hons Nutritional Therapy.

Julie is also an Examination Office and as the department's Information Technology 'Power User', supports colleagues with activities and quality processes associated with the assessment of students.

She has a range of experience in curriculum development, having been programme leader for the pre-registration adult nursing programme for about five years and programme leader for the graduate diploma in aesthetic medicine for four years. These roles encompass all aspects of programme management, including curriculum development and monitory, recruitment, and providing academic and pastoral support to students.

Julie is a Credit for Learning Advisor for the faculty, supporting external organisations to create and develop their own courses to a level where the university will approval and apply a credit rating value.

She is also a Link tutor, visiting and supporting both students and staff in placements mainly within the community in a variety of settings, such as a hospice, an independent hospital and various nursing and residential homes.
