According to Nationnews.com (Barbados) Stacia Bryan, Master's in cultural industries management graduate, has been appointed to the business development department of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF).

There was renewed interest in a light hearted formula produced by Tony Mann on how and when shoppers lose enthusiasm for buying Christmas presents sparked by a press release by the Stress Management Society (The original Amazon press release dates from December 2004). The story appeared this year in the Scotsman.

According to Garden Design Journal lecturer Helen Brown was one of the judges in their Review of the Year.

Education & Training

The New Milton Advertiser reported that health & beauty instructor Julie Argent graduated from Greenwich with a degree in Education.

June South-Robinson, who has a Masters in Education Management at Greenwich, is one of three artists at the Homework exhibition according to Caymannetnews online.

Medway

School of Engineering

Engineering students recreated a smaller version of the Millennium Galleries in Sheffield while attending the Constructionarium event sponsored by Byrne Brothers and Atkins according to South East Business.

School of Science

Professor Steve Leharne has been awarded a grant by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to help solve underground water pollution according to the Medway News.

General campus news

The Medway Messenger printed a letter from the Press Office correcting their inaccurate report that the Drill Hall Library and Pilkington Building belong to the University of Kent. In fact both the Drill Hall and Pilkington were restored by both the Greenwich and Kent. Similarly they are both owned and operated by the two universities.

The Drill Hall Library and Pilkington Building were joint winners of the Building Renovation category at the Kent Design Awards according to Your Medway and Medway Messenger.

Kent Student reported that students at Greenwich receive a higher maintenance loan because the level is based on the postcode of the institution not the location of the ‘accommodation.’

Specification magazine reported that French based Baudet SA is supplying 144 bathrooms pods for new accommodation at the University of Greenwich.
