Research Ethics Committee

Welcome to the University of Greenwich Research Ethics Committee website. The Committee has a central approval, monitoring and training role in ensuring that all research undertaken within, or on behalf, of the University of Greenwich meets the highest ethical standards. It normally meets six times each academic year to consider research applications from staff and students.

The deadline for applications is two weeks prior to the Committee meeting dates (this is to allow sufficient time for the printing of the agenda and its circulation to Committee members) – for details contact the Secretary as detailed below.

In certain circumstances the University Research Ethics Committee may not be the lead authorising Research Ethics Committee, e.g. where projects involve the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care, Human Tissue and/or participants with Mental Incapacity. In these circumstances the Committee's secretariat still acts as an important source of "in-house" advice for applicants.
