In the 21st century information age engineering is becoming increasingly multidisciplinary. The School of Engineering is here to help business and industry meet this challenge by combining traditional engineering disciplines together with Computing, Information Technology, Enterprise and Business expertise.
This is managed through our Enterprise Hub. We currently offer a wide range of services to business and industry, including:

Enterprise and Entreprenurial activity
• Concrete and materials testing, using the largest slab test system in Europe.
• Assessment and consultancy in the design, construction and operation of bulk solids handling systems. We are a recognized leader in this field through the reputation of our Wolfson Centre.
• Food manufacturing hygiene advice and consultancy, working with our colleagues in the university's Natural Resources Institutue.
• Advanced soldering systems assessment and consultancy. Our EMERG group is a leading player in the research and development of advanced lead-free soldering systems for PCBs and other manufacturing needs.
• Advanced manufacturing and LEAN thinking advice, consultancy and support.
