Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Research Group

The Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Research Group at the University of Greenwich (previously at Salford University) has a strong track record in the research of electronics manufacturing and assembly.

This has been attested by the award of several research grants from the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC). Furthermore the group has produced numerous publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings affiliated with international symposiums.

The focal points of the group's research are to identify, explore and develop suitable assembly and packaging technologies to meet the challenges of miniaturisation. The group has an excellent track record of working with industry, from fundamentals through proof of concept to exploitation, and has acquired an international reputation in this research area.

Research areas include: Electronics Manufacturing and Assembly (SMT, BGA, Flip-chip), Materials Characterisation (Solder Pastes including Pb-free and Conductive Adhesives), Process Modelling and Supply Chain Management.
