Our taught postgraduate programmes are:
The MBA programme is run in conjunction with the University of Greenwich Business School. We also supervise MPhil and PhD students researching on a variety of subjects. GMI Research Seminars are sponsored by Lloyds List.
The importance of face-to-face teaching is in our opinion essential and we offer a vibrant teaching atmosphere, with all of our staff being specialist in different maritime-related fields. We have an international student body with representatives from many different countries, as well as the UK. Currently we have students representatives from countries such as Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and USA.
There is a wide age range and a variety of different career backgrounds. This results in a friendly, eclectic mix of people. Among those who have studied for higher degrees at the Greenwich Maritime Institute are Master Mariners, ship managers and officers, marine surveyors, maritime administrators, government representatives, trade union officials and maritime educators.
What all of the GMI students share is an enthusiasm for the sea in the past, present or future.
