TRAN1005 - 20th Century International Maritime History
This course focuses on the key developments in the world shipping industry over the 20th century. Students will acquire an analytical understanding of the economic, technological, social and political factors influencing international maritime developments in the 20th century. They will also be able to compare and contrast the histories of the major national merchant shipping fleets in the 20th century and be able to analyse developments in the world shipbuilding industry.
