I joined the Department of Languages and International Studies in January 2003 as a member of the team teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP). I have been an English language teacher for 9 years and have taught academic English and general English in Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and the UK before working at the University of Greenwich.
I have an MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT at Kings College London, a BA in German and Business Studies and the Cambridge DELTA.
I run a number of courses on the International Foundation Programme and the International Foundation Programme with Cultural Studies including Academic Writing, Cultural Studies, EAP and Study Skills. I also run courses in academic writing to Business Masters’ students and I contribute on the BA English Language Teaching and Linguistics.
My areas of academic interest include genre analysis in academic writing and spcifically the use of concordance software to inform syllabus design in EAP.
