The Department of Creative and Communicative Arts provides a vibrant and creative environment in which to study drama, writing, media and literature at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We offer a diverse range of innovative programmes which enable students to realise and maximise their creative and academic potential and to seize and shape the career opportunities open to them on graduation. Our graduates have gone on to establish successful careers in journalism, broadcasting, playwriting and teaching.
Courses include both undergraduate and postgraduate options, incorporating all aspects of the creative arts and industries in the 21st century as well as a range of possible combinations with other subjects within the School of Humanities & Social Sciences.
We make as much use as possible of our brilliant location, close to London’s theatres, art galleries and cultural events and we provide a friendly and supportive atmosphere to help students make the most of their time at university.
Our staff are research active academics and specialist practitioners in their field. The Creative and Communicative Arts Department contains two research groups, one incorporating work in English, Drama, and Creative Writing, and the other focusing on Media Theory and Media Arts Practice, with particular emphasis on multi-media and interdisciplinary study.
