Creative Writing
The BA Hons Creative Writing programme at Greenwich utilises the locality of the university and its position in London, one of the great cities of the world, as being an inspiration for writing and containing some of the world’s great artistic institutions which can be sources of material. Students are encouraged to attend galleries and other field visits to generate ideas and writing.
The programme is taught by experienced practitioners of writing able to give practical help and advice to students as well as providing a historical and theoretical underpinning to the practice of writing.
The Creative Writing team have recently launched BRAND Literary Magazine - an exciting and innovative source of new writing. In the first issue there is an interview with award-winning novelist Ali Smith alongside poems, short fiction, creative non-fiction and short plays.
For further details see the Brand website.
The Creative Writing Team are part of the English and Performance Studies Research Group which incorporates work in English, Drama, and Creative Writing, with particular specialisation in Contemporary Studies on London, Jungian Theory, and Romanticism.
