Upstart is a business support, networking and development programme. We serve entrepreneurs in the creative sector (including new graduates and pre-competitive entrants) with a particular focus on audio-visual media, performance and design.

Who is it for?
Upstart's events, courses and support will suit you if you are:
- a newly established business or a practitioner in the creative sector
- a recent graduate
- an established arts practitioner who wants to know more about how entrepreneurial skills might help you develop and expand outlets for your creative talents and products.
- a company seeking affordable training for staff. Tailored short courses, delivered in-house, are available on request.
Aims and Objectives
Upstart aims to:
- Encourage innovative approaches and new and alternative practices in skills and ideas development and entrepreneurship in the creative industries in South/East London and the Thames Gateway.
- Develop the entrepreneurial knowledge and skills of freelancers and businesses in the creative sector, via entrepreneurship training and continuing professional development.
- Link businesses (small and medium-sized) with each other through networking initiatives.
