Saturday, 16th February: The Art of Producing
You know how to put on a show … but do you know how to plan a theatre production effectively? This intensive one day session will take participants through all stages of production planning from the initial idea through to opening night. The session will take a real life example of a production and participants will plan each stage of the process, learning useful hints and tips along the way.
Friday, 22nd February: Creative Project Management
Ever find yourself running out of time and budget on your creative projects? Would you like to learn the fundamentals of project management in an accessible and interesting way? This intensive day will provide you with the knowledge and skills to understand the importance of project management in the Creative Industries and to make effective and efficient project management decisions. You will be introduced to the basic disciplines of project management, such as resource and time planning, controls, communication mechanisms and reviews, and you will learn how to define the scope of a project and develop a comprehensive project plan.
Saturday, 1st March: Fundraising and Income Generation
One of the biggest barriers to success for the non-profit arts company is lack of funds. This intensive one day session will survey the funding landscape in the UK from Government funding through to trusts and foundations, small bursary schemes, and sponsorship. Practical exercises will illustrate to participants how to approach funders and write successful grant applications. The session will also touch on creative ways of raising capital and finding support outside the funding system using real-life case studies. We will also do some ‘crystal ball gazing’ and look to some future trends in arts funding.
