BA (Hons) History
The BA History degree provides a flexible and rigorous training in history.
At level one, History students take recommended courses together with a choice of courses from a wide variety of other disciplines within the school.
At level two, students follow a more specialised programme of study, choosing two core historical courses as well as a methodological training course and a further optional course in history or cognate disciplines.
At level three, students undertake an advanced 'special subject' as well as a further history course, and also undertake a dissertation, year-long work placement or additional taught course.
For information on fees and how to apply, see the online prospectus.
For information on accommodation, see our student accommodation pages.
Combining History with another subject
It is also possible to combine History with another subject. For example, History with Politics or History and Sociology. For further information on combined honours and details of possible combinations, see the prospectus.
