Research in History
The History Research Activity Group brings together academic staff from the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, the Greenwich Maritime Institute and across the University, providing a focus for research activities and a forum for sharing historical expertise. The group organises two regular seminars - the Greenwich History Seminar and the GMI Seminar - and maintains close links with historians working in other institutions in London, Kent and beyond.
Members of the group are engaged in a variety of research projects and activities, though the group has particular strengths in naval and maritime history, and in local and regional history. These strengths are reflected in the Regional and Community Histories Research Group.
Members of the group have published on a diverse range of historical subjects and welcome enquiries regarding postgraduate study and supervision. Full details of staff research interests, and areas of supervision, are available on our individual webpages.
