Sociology is the study of the relations between individuals, groups, communities and nations. It looks at the structures and institutions within society and examines how individuals are formed through these structures and how they, in turn, affect society. Sociology at the University of Greenwich provides a broad foundation in social thought and critique while also allowing for focused research in areas of special interest. Students are able to pursue their own interests through a diversity of courses and are encouraged to develop high-level research skills through the completion of a research project in the final year.
