BA (Hons)TESOL - Click here to download brochure in PDF formatThis programme combines practical training in English language teaching with the academic study of language and communication.

It is intended to open up career opportunities in the teaching of English language in the private sector, both overseas and in this country, for which there is an ever-greater demand.

In order to qualify for a teaching post in the state sector in the UK, it is necessary to take a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), after graduation.

Credit is given on the PGCE programme to graduates of the BA (Hons) in TESOL/English Language Teaching.

At level one, students take recommended courses together with a choice of courses from a wide variety of other disciplines within the school.

At level two, students follow a more specialised programme of study with three core courses and a further optional course chosen from a wide variety of other disciplines within the School.

At level three,  students take three 'core' courses, and a further course chosen from a wide variety of other disciplines within the School.
