BA French and English
BA (Hons) French, Rhodes University
Maîtrise (MA) and a Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies, Paul Valéry University in Montpellier
PhD (Doctorat d’Études Anglo-américaines), specialising in screen translation.
PGCE (PCET), the University of Greenwich
Zoë has taught French in Southern Africa and English in France. She is currently teaching French from beginners to intermediate levels at the University of Greenwich and also contributes to the following courses: Europe without Borders, Language and Culture: Europe and Beyond.
Research Interests
Her research interests are in screen translation, film semiotics, verbal and non-verbal communication. She is interested in the audio-visual medium and the relationship between language and image within the context of foreign language subtitling and dubbing.
