The School of Science has a thriving research base with many of its activities gaining international praise and recognition. Many staff members are regularly invited to give presentations on their research work at both national and international conferences. Their status in the scientific world is further enhanced as a result of their work on the editorial boards of some of the world's leading journals.
Medway Sciences works closely with the pharmaceutical and personal product industries. For instance, a joint post-doctoral programme between Pfizer and the university currently employs 10 post-doctoral researchers and is one of the largest academic-industrial collaborations in the UK Pharmaceutical community. Other centres of excellence within the school include the Lipid research group and carbon dioxide fixation group, Carbon8. Many of the school's postgraduate students have secured excellent jobs both in the UK and overseas and as such have proved to be excellent ambassadors for the university and its research activity.

The School values highly its links with employers both large and small. We have a thriving liaison with employers and have regular meetings that help inform us of their view of the world.
We have research links with large employers such as, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Abbott Laboratories, Procter & Gamble, BP, Shell, Remade Kent & Medway, Gallaghers, Skipaway and the Environment Agency.
