Profile

Professor Martin Snowden is the Head of the School of Science. As the Head of School Martin actively promotes the idea of the School been a place of inspiration where motivating students to be enthusiastic and passionate about science is our first and foremost priority. Under his leadership Martin is also seeking to provide students with the tools required for them to succeed in a competitive workplace by actively promoting employability and developing the necessary skills required to build successful careers. The School of Science tries to deliver what it promises with students and the student experience been at the heart of what it does.

Professor Martin Snowden has a background as a physical chemist who has an international research profile in the area of colloid and polymer science as it relates to pre-formulation and formulation science. Martin has published over 120 original published works to-date including a number of invited papers and reviews. Martin also has very strong industrial links with companies including Pfizer, Glaxo Smith Kline and BP which have led to the generation of in excess of £3.5m in research funding. Martin is also an editorial board member of the ACS journal, Langmuir.

As the vice-chairman of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Science (APS) Martin is very enthusiastic about promoting Pharmaceutical Science as a discipline especially as it contributes so much to the British and also to so many international economies. The School of Science is one of the largest providers of Pharmaceutical Science education in the United Kingom.
