Medical Services

Access to a doctor

Students are strongly advised to register with a doctor as soon as possible whilst living on campus or studying at the University of Greenwich. It is much easier to register when you are well and not when you need medical advice in an emergency. This enables the surgery to obtain your previous notes, get you registered on their computer system, which allows for a more realistic and smooth running safe practice. We have close working relationships with GPs near the Greenwich and Medway Campuses and a medical centre at Avery Hill for students who live on or near the campus.

Medical services near or on campus

Avery Hill

If you are based at Avery Hill campus you may register with the Avery Hill Medical Centre.  If you do not wish to use the campus Medical Centre and wish to find a doctor (GP) nearby, visit the NHS Direct website or telephone them on 0845 4647 with the postcode of your residence and they will give you details of three medical centres close to you.

Greenwich and Medway

While you can find a doctor or medical service as outlined in the previous paragraph, you can obtain information on medical services local to the Greenwich and Medway campuses here:
