Applying as an undergraduate

If you have found programmes that interest you, the Enquiry Unit will be pleased to give you more information. You can phone us or drop in for a chat at our Greenwich campus. You could also attend one of our Open Days and information fairs and see the university for yourself.
Information fairs offer a programme of talks and the chance to speak to advisors from our schools, careers and students services, Disability and Dyslexia Centre and International Office. These are held several times a year and are usually attended by people who have not yet made an application. Each school also holds its own open days. Typically these include question and answer sessions with staff and students and a tour of the campus. If we make you an offer of a place, we will invite you to the university. Whenever you visit us, we will try our best to ensure that your questions are answered.
For further details, please contact the Enquiry Unit on 0800 005 006.
Full-time courses
Full-time students should apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Schools and colleges can supply application forms or they can be obtained by writing to UCAS, Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL52 3LZ, by telephoning 0870 1122211, or by applying at www.ucas.com.
Clearing
Each year after the publication of A level results in August, we run an advice centre for people still looking for a place in higher education. The centre can be contacted free on 0800 005 006.
Fast Track admissions
Fast Track admissions is a service that the university offers to students who are currently studying at our Partner Colleges so that they can progress onto their next programme without the need to complete an application form.
Some programmes have a ‘natural progression’ from the programme currently being studied into another programme taught at this university. In some cases there may be a number of different programmes that may be progressed on to, for example students currently studying FdA Accounting and Finance at West Kent College may progress onto year 3 of either BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance or BA (Hons) Business with Finance taught by the School of Business at the university.
Further information on how to Fast Track
Initial teacher training programmes
If you are applying for a programme with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), you will apply through UCAS. Graduates applying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programme should apply via the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR), Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL52 3LZ. Telephone 0870 1122200 or log on to www.gttr.ac.uk.
Nursing/midwifery programmes
For BSc and DipHE programmes apply through UCAS.
Part-time programmes
Part-time students apply directly to us. Most of our programmes are available on a part-time basis and there is a possibility of changing from full-time to part-time or vice versa. Application forms and further information are available from our Enquiry Unit.
There is no closing date for applicants to part-time courses, but again apply as early as possible and do not wait for examination results.
Applicants employed in industry
If you are employed in industry, and hope to be sponsored by your employer to study on a programme listed in the UCAS Handbook, you must apply through UCAS in the normal way.
International and EU applicants
The university welcomes applications from international and EU students. For most purposes, EU students are treated as home students. For all programmes except International Foundation Programmes apply direct to UCAS. For International Foundation Programmes apply direct to the university, complete an online application form . If, before applying, you would like to find out more about us, or to discuss how your qualifications equate with our entry requirements, ring our year-round Enquiry Unit on +44 20 8331 8590. Alternatively, write to the University of Greenwich Enquiry Unit, PO Box 32498, London SE18 6WD, United Kingdom.
For comparisons between EU/International and UK qualifications, you can contact the National Recognition Information Centre by telephoning +44 (0)870 9904088 or logging on to www.naric.org.uk.
Completing your UCAS application form
You may apply to up to six choices of institution/programme on the UCAS form. You do not need to use all six. Selections are made from the programmes listed in the UCAS Handbook, and you can mix both degree and non-degree programmes if appropriate. If you wish to apply to the same institution for more than one programme, you will normally have to make a separate entry for each choice. However, if you wish to be considered for both a degree programme and an HND in the same subject at the same institution, this may only count as a single choice and the institution may make a dual offer for both. If you intend to do this, check with our Enquiry Unit.
You should list your choices in the order in which they appear in the UCAS Handbook. There is no facility for you to express an order of preference, and all your applications will be treated equally. Take care to enter the details of the institutions and programmes clearly and correctly on the application form.
For further help completing the application form, please see the "How to Apply" booklet available from UCAS.
