AccessAbility ambassador profiles
This section is our gallery of ambassadors from the academic year 2010-11. Our ambassadors are from a variety of different academic disciplines and are both undergraduates and postgraduates. We also have two graduate ambassadors who have chosen to stay with us on a voluntary basis since they graduated in July this year.
If you have any questions for the ambassadors, you can use the discussion forum to post questions or comments. The Project does not allow direct contact with the ambassadors for a variety of reasons.
"I work with a dedicated team who are as committed as I am to widening participation... The team works with different departments across the university and our success is testament to all of the people who have worked with us to make this Project so successful."

"The reason I chose to become *AccessAbility Ambassador is that, it would give me the opportunity to use knowledge gained from my undergraduate study to inspire young people who are dyslexic like me. Although being a dyslexic does not stop a person from studying, people may not have the enthusiasm to make progress as a result of the disability. If people read encouraging words written by someone with the same condition, it will motivate them to enter higher education so they can achieve their dreams and inform young people that education is achievable regardless of disability. "
Farhiya

"I chose to become an *AccessAbility Ambassador to provide support, encouragement and advice to prospective students. To share my experiences (if appropriate) and to discuss the transformative aspect of education for everyone including those with specific support needs. Provide solutions, where possible, to educational barriers. Education is a right and not a privilege and no one should be barred from that experience because of disability."
